Town Hall Meeting Minutes for June 2, 2009

** EVENTS **

- Friday, June 5, 7 PM SLT to 9 PM SLT: Fuzzday Celebraton, location TBA. The theme will be "Steampunk Pirates." This will also be a RFL event with a RFL kiosk. Music will be Fuzz's choice.

- Saturday, June 6, 9 PM SLT: A special super secret even for Emperor SteelCobra Calamari. It's a surprise, so don't tell him about it. This event is subject to change, but the location will be the Steelhead Ballroom.


** STEELHEAD LIBRARY EVENTS **

"Steelhead public library is going to be putting together a Summer of Flight display in Main Steelhead City. We would like your input and ideas and help to put it together. We're aiming towards around WWI era aircraft and airships. If you have airships, tiny airships, photos, stories, RL stories of war heroes, stories you would like to tell or any ideas please contact Riven Homewood."


** GENERAL STEELHEAD STUFF **

- If you're going to post your off-sim event in group chat, please make sure we're not having a Steelhead event. We want to avoid overlapping events. The Steelhead calendar can be found on both the Steelhead Ning and on the Steelhead Sentinel.

- The Councilor's meeting was canceled due to RL snake relocation efforts by management. The meeting will be rescheduled and attendees notified ASAP.

- Boomtown: Thank you for your patience with the tunnel and dam rebuilding. Sorry it is taking longer than expected.

- Management is in the process of implementing a new sim-wide texture. It is a rock face that repeats quite well. Please feel free to use these textures for your Steelhead home.

- Wednesday, June 3, 6 PM SLT: Miss Riven Homewood will be participating in a panel discussion regarding Steampunk and invites all Steelhead residents to attend at the Info Island Auditorium.

** RELAY FOR LIFE **

- The Yard Sale is still going on at the Saloon. REMEMBER to PICK UP your purchases after you buy them! Please also encourage others to stop by as not all items are limited to Victorian or Steampunk items.

- We will get our campsite information at a Captain's meeting on Sunday at 3:00 PM SLT.

- The Caledon RFL Treasure Hunt will start next week on June 9th.

- June 6-7 the Relay Rockers Team will have a Relay For Life 24 hour non-stop dance fundraiser event, 3 PM SLT Saturday 6 June to 3 PM SLT Sunday 7 June. The event will be held at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Durango/176/131/125

- If you are bilingual and would like to contribute your voice for recording for a RFL display, please read the following:

“Hello!

We are looking for native speakers of various languages who would not mind having their voices recorded for a Relay For Life project.

Our team is involved in building a sim for Relay For Life. One of our projects will incorporate an interactive voice sculpture created by Daruma Picnic. To prepare for this project, Daruma needs to record the voices of native speakers of various languages saying the words, "One World, One Hope," in their own language.

The words, "One World, One Hope," are the theme of this year's Relay For Life.

If you are interested in participating in these voice recordings, we ask that, at the time of the recording, you:

• have a good quality microphone
• have preferably a headset (so your voice doesn't play back through your speakers)
• have a fairly noise-free environment at your computer
• provide us with the text of "One World, One Hope" written in your native language, or a link to a web site with the same. These will be made into textures to be used in the sculpture.
• provide us with a notecard with your SL name and the language you are speaking

Daruma will be making the recordings of your voice here in SL and it should only take about 5 minutes.

We've set up the following dates and times for recording sessions:
Tuesday, June 2nd - 7 p.m. SLT
Wednesday, June 3rd - 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. SLT
Thursday, June 4th - 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. SLT

All speakers used in the project will be listed as contributors.

- The Emperor Cobra Calamari's belated rezzday party will be held this Saturday starting at 6 PM SLT. It will be an 80's theme party.

For those who want to blow enemies out of the water into tiny tiny bits, there is a place for that as well! Naval exercises begin at 7.30 pm at Port Merrimac in Artificial Isle.
