Town Hall Meeting Minutes - Sept. 29, 2009


** EVENTS **

- Monday, 7-9 PM SLT: WAM at Club Gearz with DJ Diamanda

- Wednesday, 6-8 PM SLT: DJ Angelica at Club Gearz in Steelhead Boomtown playing “name” songs like “Hey, Jude,” “Hey, Joe,” etc.

- Wednesday, 8-10 PM SLT: DJ Diamanda in Steeltopia at the Pneumatic Revolution Lounge. The lag interfered with the Force last week, so they're making another attempt at “Best in Star Wars” with prizes for best male and female costume.

- Thursday, 5-7 PM SLT: Poetry Slam at Der Hut DeJaegers at Winterfell.

- Friday, 6:30 PM SLT: Steelhead will join the Opening Night of the SL Boobiethon at the Winterfell Community Center starting at 6.30 PM SLT. More information including a schedule of events can be found at the Steelhead Ning.

** STEELHEAD LIBRARY EVENTS **

- The library has a continuing exhibit on Portland’s Chinatown.

- On Sunday, October 4th, “How the Central Pacific Railroad Laid Ten Miles of Track in One Day.” Riven Homewood will read an excerpt from Frank Chin,s novel, “Donald Duk,” in which Chin skillfully blends U.S. history and Chinese folklore as he describes the day Chinese railroad laborers set a new track laying record while the railroads raced to meet at Promontory Point. The reading will be held at the Steelhead Public Library Garden.

- Would somebody like to create a holiday exhibit for the Library? If so, please IM Riven Homewood.


** STEELHEAD CITY STUFF **

- Yuriko Muromachi along with a few friends have put together small donation kiosk for the victims of the Ondoy/Ketsana typhoon. The relief efforts will go to the Red Cross. If you want to donate outside of SL, please visit the Red Cross website.

- The Steamhunt will continue through this Friday.


** OTHER RANDOM STUFF IN THE STEAMLANDS **

- Koshari Mahana is in need of items from creators for the auction that will take place during the opening of the center for Autism Awareness in Victoriana Pavilion of merchandise donated by SL creators. More information can be found here.
