** STEELHEAD CITY STUFF **

- Saturday, Oct. 24: 2nd Annual Spookiest House Contest - Entries Due this Date! We're going to have a competition for the spookiest home in Steelhead, including merchants. Drop a notecard on Dogg Food by Saturday the 24th stating that you're participating. Please include a landmark to your home or storefront. Management will put together a list of the participants. Voting will be held in the Town Hall towards the end of the week and a coveted trophy and prize will be awarded.

- Sunday, October 25, Midnight, SLT: Vendors Trick or Treat Hunt: For all participating Vendors and Residents. If you're interested in participating, submit your name and landmark on a notecard to Dogg Food by the 25th at midnight to be listed in the trick or treat hunt map. Take a trick or treat hunt kit at the front of the meeting room for the prim candy to hide and instructions.

- Wednesday, October 28 and Sunday, November 1, 2009: Spooky Story Readings: Steelhead City and the Steelhead Public Library will be collaborating to host a Spooky Ghost Story festival featuring some of the greatest readers on the grid for two days. Both events to be held in Steelhead Capital City. Please enable voice as some of the readers will be utilizing voice features.

We still have a few openings left for readers! If you're interested, please contact either TotalLunar Eclipse or Riven Homewood ASAP before all the spots fill up! We'll be sending out a list for the readers with the itinerary. Please note, the time slot you want may have been filled so please contact Lunar or Riven for updates.

- Haunted Tunnels: There will be a series of haunted tunnels through Boomtown, Steelhead and Shanghai. You'll get lost, you'll get scared...so bring a friend. More information towards the end of the month. Tensai will be in charge of the scare tactics so be warned ahead of time.

- Wednesday, October 21, 8-10 PM SLT: DJ Diamanda in Steeltopia at the Pneumatic Revolution Lounge. Come on down for our Halloween event. Come dressed as your favorite creepy outfit and help haunt the Revolution Lounge. L$1000 for Best Male and Female outfit.

- Every Thursday, 5-7 PM SLT: Poetry Slam at Der Hut DeJaegers at Winterfell.

- Every Thursday (except last Thursday of the month), 7:30 PM SLT: Iron Melee at Port Merrimac.

- Saturday, October 24, 12 Noon, SLT: der Hut des Jaeger Second Anniversary! Yes, it has been that long! Come celebrate the Consulate office with a bar, or the Jagerkin bar that has office stationary! Also the release party for the 2010 Shirtless Against Breast Cancer Calendars - Ladies, Gentlemen, Fur & Fin, and Jaegerkin! Benefiting breastcancer.org, helping breast cancer patients and their families. Music by Radio Riel.

- Call for Actors and Extras! Mr. Steelcobra Calamari, or "Blue", as he is known in the Orient, has recently opened up an attraction called The Grizzly Mines in Steeltopia. He is very interested in putting together a short promotional video and has asked Hotspur OToole to head it up. H. has storyboarded a short tale of a couple who are lost in a rainstorm and venture into the mines by mistake, only to be chased by assorted ghouls and ghosts. That's where you come in. We will need: A human male, middle aged looking if possible, heavy, if possible, dressed in very retro-looking (read: 40s or 50s) clothing; A human female, middle class,retro style dress from 40s or 50s; Assorted avatars wearing Monster, Ghosts or other pernicious creature AVIs.
