** STEELHEAD PUBLIC WORKS **

St Helens - St Helens is open to her residents finally. We thank you for your extreme patience, the task was like moving mountains.

The major thing with St Helens is her terraformation. We keep the land locked of terraforming, if you would like to terraform, let Lunar or Tensai know to unlock that. After you're done it will be once again locked unless you ask again. If you'd like help with moving dirt let management know.

Lots were shifted around, things moved and essentially we lost about 6 lots from the original planning. The mountain and that ambiance was the most important thing to keep, the original builds were scaled down, some were omitted altogether but the city is going to remain looking very rustic. Alot of lots were renumbered but if you reserved a lot you stayed in that spot you reserved.

Tensai took a USGS geological survey 3d image and turned it into a .raw file so the mountain is quite true to its RL counterpart.

** AROUND THE STEAMLANDS **

"I'd like to announce the soft opening of my new art museum. I hope to have a grand opening sometime early next year. You will find several galleries displaying art from around Second Life. This is not intended to be just a shop, but a place where art patrons can learn about the artists, their art and their process. Since all who build in SL are artists, non-traditional arts will be shown as well. This includes furniture, clothing, jewelry, houses, pretty much anything that can be built in SL. Currently, there are no artists showing, just selections from the permanent collection. This will also eventually be a lecture / recital hall. My RL wife will be joining SL to work on telepresence lectures and speaking engagements and she's interested in giving a recital or two (or three). If you are an artist and would be interested in showing some works, or would be interested in using the lecture hall facilities, please contact me. Also, I'm looking for an artist to assist with creating a shop sign and matching clipart. Please let me know if you're interested."

- Sunday, December 6: Holiday Story Festival. Two sessions, beginning at 11am SLT and 6pm SLT. We still have room for a few readers. Please contact Riven Homewood if you would like to read. We would like to have stories and poems from a wide variety of winter holiday traditions, including but not limited to, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Solstice.

- Victorian Christmas Decoration Contest: The Steelhead Public Library is sponsoring a Victorian Christmas Decoration contest. Property owners in all Steelhead sims are eligible to enter. A team of judges will be announced at a later date.

First prize: $1,000L
Second prize: $500L
2 Honorable Mentions: $250L each

- Wright Brothers Exhibition: The Duke of Mayfair, in conjunction with Steelhead Library, invites you to attend an exhibition on the Wright Brothers and their famous flying machine.

Location: Jules Verne Wharf, Caledon Mayfair
Exhibition time: Dec 1st to Feb 1st

December is coming up, we are aware of some of the big yearly dances other communities do such as the snowflake ball etc etc. We want to try and not have big events clash so if you’re doing a major event in December can you drop Lunar a notecard with the date and time so we're aware of what's out there.
