STEELHEAD RELAY FOR LIFE

- Fantasy Faire April 19th thru 25th. Much like the Clothing Fair last month. Only more Neko, Elven, Mermaids, Dragon, Goth, Fae, SciFi, etc.

- Saturday, April 24th: Horse Race to Benefit RFL.  Location TBD.  L$500 entry free (all entry fees to be donated to Steelhead Salmons RFL). Please see the Steelhead Ning for further information.

- Paint The Grid Purple is week of May 1 thru 8. Buildings, trees, grass, objects have been suggested to be painted purple. Unsure if Lunar and Tensai would want their town all purple, but perhaps Steelheaders could wear purple that week. Also, Tensai could probably make it rain purple.

- May 8th, Purple Rain RFL fundraising event at the hotel.

- For volunteers for our campsite building for Relay weekend (July 17th and 18th), Lunar said there were four, Lumi, Elle, Valdyr, and one other he couldn't remember, and Linus had volunteered via the Ning. Those volunteers will be contacted soon so that we can discuss what to do for our campsite build this year.

- From the desk of Otenth Paderborn: In response to a discussion started by Nix Sands on the Steamlander forums, I've spent part of the weekend spiffing up Aether Chrononauts to be an announcement channel.  http://aetherchrononauts.org is simplified, with a single click to bring up the calendar in SLT. People can join an in-world group or a Subscribe-o-Matic at the attached LM. Calendar admins can send notices via the S-o-M controller. Announcements for Antiquity, Caledon, CDS, Europa Wulfenbach, Giverny, New Babbage, New Toulouse, Orcadia, Raglanshire, Steelhead, Steeltopia, Winterfell, Wunderbar, &c. (If you want to be added, IM Otenth Paderborn. See http://aetherchrononauts.org for calendar. For shopping notices only, join the Victorian Shopkeepers Association in-world group. - The Steampunk Explorers sent this missive to Lunar : "I am the Executive Director of a new group called Steampunk Explorer. We are an open enrollment group dedicated to exactly what the name implies." We are opening offices in Winterfell Laudanum and Caledon Tamrannoch on land donated by our Chairman. The office will be an information center for all interested in the Victorian Steampunk genre. There will not be any items for sale in our offices. We exist as a public service organization. Our plan is to eventually establish other offices in the Steamlands including one in Steelhead."

"Originally our group was established to simply pass on information to interested citizens. But shortly after we established the group the Steampunk Resource Center closed its doors. So we have decided to try to take up part of their mission as well. Hence the establishment of our first office."
