St Helens - St Helens is open to her residents finally. We thank you for your extreme patience, the task was like moving mountains.
The major thing with St Helens is her terraformation. We keep the land locked of terraforming, if you would like to terraform, let Lunar or Tensai know to unlock that. After you're done it will be once again locked unless you ask again. If you'd like help with moving dirt let management know.
Lots were shifted around, things moved and essentially we lost about 6 lots from the original planning. The mountain and that ambiance was the most important thing to keep, the original builds were scaled down, some were omitted altogether but the city is going to remain looking very rustic. Alot of lots were renumbered but if you reserved a lot you stayed in that spot you reserved.
Tensai took a USGS geological survey 3d image and turned it into a .raw file so the mountain is quite true to its RL counterpart.

"I'd like to announce the soft opening of my new art museum. I hope to have a grand opening sometime early next year. You will find several galleries displaying art from around Second Life. This is not intended to be just a shop, but a place where art patrons can learn about the artists, their art and their process. Since all who build in SL are artists, non-traditional arts will be shown as well. This includes furniture, clothing, jewelry, houses, pretty much anything that can be built in SL. Currently, there are no artists showing, just selections from the permanent collection. This will also eventually be a lecture / recital hall. My RL wife will be joining SL to work on telepresence lectures and speaking engagements and she's interested in giving a recital or two (or three). If you are an artist and would be interested in showing some works, or would be interested in using the lecture hall facilities, please contact me. Also, I'm looking for an artist to assist with creating a shop sign and matching clipart. Please let me know if you're interested."

- Repeal Day Building Contest for Das Jaeger Haus - And they’re celebrating by making moonshine!
We Celebrate the Freedom to Celebrate. On 5 December 1933, the United States repealed the Eighteenth Amendment and gave Americans the constitutional ability to consume alcohol. We thought it was a grand excuse for a pub to host a building contest.
The winner of the contest will gain bragging rights, their drink will be served in the pub, and there could be a piece of the action in it for you, if you catch my drift.
Judging will start 5 December 2009 at 5:00 SLT, and the drinks need to be given to Annechen Lowey before 5:00 pm SLT on 4 December 2009.
There are some rules:
1) The serving mechanism (keg, pitcher, tap, chicken, what-have-you) should be less than 10 prims. Single digits, no more than nine.
2) The name of the drink and serving mechanism, the look of the drink and serving mechanism, and the chat of drink and serving mechanism need to comply with TOS.
3) Just in case you do not read the TOS: Do not use obscene or offensive language in the description, chat or name of the drink and serving mechanism. Be clever, not tacky.
4) A Transfer-only copy of the build should be sent to Annechen Lowey at least 24 hours before judging begins on 5 December. The winner will be asked to provide a copy/mod version for the bar installation.

Ripper is a game of accusation, counter-accusation, paranoia and murder. It is based heavily on Werewolf or Mafia and uses Second Life to hide interactions between the players and the referee.

You may read or tell original works, folktales, family stories, short stories, poems, or excerpts from longer works. If not original, please tell the audience the author and source.
- Victorian Christmas Decoration Contest
The Library will sponsor a Victorian Christmas Decoration contest. Property owners in all Steelhead sims are eligible to enter. A team of judges will be announced at a later date.
First prize: $1,000L
Second prize: $500L

Cavorite Cup 2009
Breaking News from Baron KlausWulfenbach Outlander: "The total raised by the Cavorite Cup races is L$19479. Considering that one full month of Mines tier is $12000 (and tier-to-limit is L$36000), this is substantial. L$13310 was from entrants alone."
Steelhead was represented by Miss Riven Homewood and Miss Searra Weatherwax in the Cavorite Mines fundraiser.

** STEELHEAD CITY STUFF **
- Help Agatha Heterodyne find her socks, which have been lost somewhere in Steelhead. We had found them last Friday night, but they’ve disappeared again. The starting point for the hunt is in the foyer of the town hall.
- Steelhead still needs a fish sculptor! We need a fish! Can you do it? Do you know someone who can do it? We want our fish statue! Contact TotalLunar Eclipse for more information.
- Steelhead Station is done and slowly being filled in. For those who had freebie items placed there, management is going to be making trunks and luggage and crates for you to place your freebie item in. We ask that you not place any prims down unless authorized by management, otherwise they'll be returned. We'll send out the trunks once they're finished.
- If you would like to form a group on the Steelhead Ning, please contact either Kyrstine Qinan or Eladrienne Laval to set it up. Existing and newly formed groups with no activity for an extended period of time will be dissolved by the Ning moderators.
- Antiquity Embassy in Steelhead: We would like to extend a warm welcome and greeting to the Antiquity Embassy in Steelhead Capital City. Sir Caspian Zeplin is our ambassador from Antiquity. If you see him around, please give him warm greetings. Also take to note he has diplomatic immunity.
- Steelhead Shanghai in Designing Worlds: Today at 2pm SLT Shanghai was in the spotlight for Designing Worlds. It came pretty fast for us to set up and get things ready. A big thank you to Elegia Underwood for more than likely setting us up as a candidate for the show. They will have the full show on the archive in a couple of days, we will be putting it up on the Ning when we see it or you can go to their archives and hunt it down in a few days.
- Steelhead Mt St Helens: The land is down, a small copy is at the foyer in the Steelhead Town Hall. Prebooking starts now, anyone interested in land please see TotalLunar Eclipse. Notecard with theme, building style and more information follows. The sim will be coming down before the end of the year. That's a must as Lunar starts full time work January 2nd of 2010. Fuzzball Ortega: Ok......update on the dead guys. As you remember, we found one in the Squiddy on Doctor Alter's property, and another one hanging in the mines.
Tensai Hilra: He's getting a little .... rank.
Fuzzball Ortega: The John Doe that was in the Squiddy was identified by an agent of Pinkerton's.
TotalLunar Eclipse: Oh my, the plot thickens.
Fuzzball Ortega: His name was.....John Doe. Guess we got that part right.
Fuzzball Ortega mutters, "sister's a pinkerton agent"
Fuzzball Ortega: He was investigating a lead involving smuggling into Shanghai.
Tensai Hilra: The coincidence of the name is stunning.
Fuzzball Ortega: According to Beck's report, the guy was stabbed several times, then somehow fed to the Squiddy.
Fuzzball Ortega: So, that shifts that investigation over to Shanghai.
Fuzzball Ortega: And why they're trying to frame Alter with these murders, is beyond me. After all, Lunar says she's a sweet kitty.
TotalLunar Eclipse: *smiles*
Fuzzball Ortega: No idea on the guy hanging in the mines.....but put a Santa hat on him, I'll hang him in the Steelhead Christmas Tree this year.
